An article for The New York Times covering a whistle-blower complaint alleging that Col. Earl Matthews, a lawyer for the D.C. Guard at the time of the Jan. 6 attack, faced retaliation after challenging the testimony of top Army leadership includes mention of CERL Executive Board member Mark Zaid. Zaid filed the complaint with lawyer Andrew Bakaj through Whistleblower Aid.
