This week, the United Kingdom and France joined other countries in formally recognizing Palestinian statehood. Ahead of their announcements, Professor Orde Kittrie, member of CERL’s Advisory Council, wrote at Foundation for Defense of Democracies that a move on their part to recognize Palestine as a state would “reward terrorism” and put at risk European security by giving Russia the fodder to increase its assistance to Catalonia, Scotland, and other separatist regions.

Orde Kittrie, an Arizona State University law professor and senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, previously served as the lead U.S. State Department attorney for nuclear issues. He is a member of CERL’s Advisory Council. Read his bio here
