CERL Advisory Council member Richard Painter joins the host of Lawyer 2 Lawyer podcast, Craig Williams, to discuss government ethics in light of allegations against Rep. George Santos and recent pressure to investigate the role some members of Congress might have played in Jan. 6. According to Prof. Painter:
“If the voters care more about whether the member of Congress agree with them on abortion or guns or taxes or on whatever it is than they care about whether the member of Congress is ethical, then we’re going to get a Congress that reflects that. I would hope that the public would take ethics more seriously.”
Prof. Painter is the S. Walter Richey Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Minnesota and co-author of the book, American Nero: The History of the Destruction of the Rule of Law, and Why Trump Is the Worst Offender. Read his full bio here.
