In a newly filed court brief, the Department of Justice said former President Donald Trump is not immune from lawsuits connected with the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. CERL Executive Board member Stuart Gerson told Law360:
“There are a lot of places where the permissible scope of an official’s activity are limited. All the branches of government have constitutionally limited powers.”
