This month, the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association (APPA), together with BrainFutures, issued guidelines for psychedelic-assisted therapy practitioners. CERL Executive Board member Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Stephen N. Xenakis, M.D., who heads up the APPA and has spoken about the promise of psychedelics treatment for veterans suffering from PTSD, told Axios about this first-of-a-kind development.

Brig. Gen. Xenakis is an adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist with many years of clinical, academic, and management experience. He is an advisor for Physicians for Human Rights and the Center for Victims of Torture. He is also an Adjust Professor at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Read his bio here.
