On November 13, 2025, Professor Geoffrey Corn, a member of CERL’s Advisory Council, helped file an amicus brief in W.M.M. v. Trump, an Alien Enemies Act case. In the brief, the amici argue that it is unlawful to invoke the Alien Enemies Act for the purposes of “peacetime deportation,” and the incidence of illegal immigration and drug smuggling does not qualify as an attack on United States soil.
Geoffrey S. Corn is the George R. Killam, Jr. Chair of Criminal Law and Director of the Center for Military Law and Policy at Texas Tech University School of Law. A retired U.S. Army Judge Advocate Officer, he served as the Army’s senior law of war advisor. He is also a member of the CERL Advisory Council. Read his bio here.
